Telecast Fiber Systems Hires Darren Fordham as Manager of Sports Business Development

Sales Professional Brings 25 Years of Experience in Mobile Broadcasting Field 

WORCESTER, Mass. Jan. 27, 2009 — Telecast Fiber Systems today announced the appointment of Darren Fordham as manager for sports business development. In his new role, Fordham will develop and maintain new and current business for the company’s fiber optic systems for sports broadcasting production, including solutions for mobile vehicles, stadiums, and arenas.   

Fordham is a veteran sales professional in the mobile broadcasting field, with more than 25 years of industry experience. He joins Telecast from Wohler Technologies, where he served as director of business development for video products. Fordham began his career in the broadcasting industry while attending the University of Alabama in Birmingham, when he was director and technical director for the WBRC-TV evening news. Following product and account management positions at Sony, he then spent several years in the design, construction, and operation of mobile broadcasting vehicles at Cross Creek Video, engineering live sporting events for ABC, NBC, CBS, ESPN, and FOX. He also served as a marketing product specialist for broadcast equipment at PESA Switching Systems (now QuStream), where he served in various roles, including director of product development. 

Fordham is a member of the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE), the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE), and the Sports Video Group (SVG). He will be based in Huntsville, Ala., and will report to Richard Cerny, Telecast president and CEO.
