With high resolution flat panel displays becoming more prevalent and monitor resolutions increasing, it is natural to drive them digitally through their DVI or HDMI interface to obtain optimum image quality . The Thor-EU supports DVI-D extension up to resolutions of 2560x2048 (Duallink only) making it the perfect solution for long distance high resolution video requirements. In addition, the units can be configured to support USB 2.0 transparent or USB-HID for keyboard/mouse or other types of devices such as touch screens, tablets, or other pointing devices.
Using the latest fiber optic technology for video transmission, the Thor-EU performs flawlessly due to the uncompressed transfer of DVI data at full speed without picture corruption or frame drops. Even the highest resolutions (1920x1200@Singlelink and 2560x2048 @Duallink) the Thor-EU bridges up to 400m (50/125) over multimode fiber. The high-density design allows up to 3 devices to be mounted into a 1RU tray. A special Thor-EU version comes with a built-in KVM-Switch in the Local Unit. This allows you to connect 2x CPUs at the Local Unit. A short key sequence, typed in at the Remote Unit, switches between the two CPUs.This saves an external KVM switch at the Local Unit.
